Student Presentation at WSSA's 2017 Conference wins Rodney Mather Award

The NAU Yuma Social Work Student Association were the 2016-2017 recipients of the Rodney Mather Service Award.  The Rodney Mather Award honors outstanding civic or university service projects completed by registered student organizations.  The NAU Yuma Social Work Student Association completed a yearlong Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign in Yuma and Imperial counties.  Students worked with local social service agencies, U.S. Border Patrol, and social work faculty to increase community awareness of human trafficking on the U.S. Mexico border.  Four of these students, Jesus Atondo, Alex Galvin, Sarai Jazek, and Grace Ricablanca presented papers at this year’s (2017) WSSA Conference in San Francisco.
