We invite you to join the World Social Science Association and to review the merits of membership in a professional organization committed to interdisciplinary scholarship, service, and collegiality since its inception in 1958. Membership in the Association is included, at no extra charge, in presenters' registrations for the annual professional conference WSSA sponsors each spring, a conference which grows yearly in quality and diversity. While membership is not required to attend our annual conference, conference registration confers membership automatically.

For those who will not be joining us at the conference, but would still like to be voting members and to receive the publications, subscription only memberships can be purchased.

All members will be sent, in the month following the annual conference, directions for free online access to The Social Science Journal, a journal that continues to receive outstanding reviews under the guidance of its editors, Daphne Pederson and Krista Lynn Minnotte, of the University of North Dakota. 

Each year at its conference the WSSA honors three Oustanding Emerging Scholars, junior faculty members who are doing cutting edge research and have already made substantial contributions to the social sciences, with the strong promise of future such contributions.  It also presents a Distinguished Book Award and the Larry Gould Best Article Award to authors it chooses to honor.

In addition, the Association annually recognizes up to four outstanding student papers and one outstanding dissertation paper, and awards prizes to the student authors at its annual conference.
